“The grass withers, the flowers fade; but the word of our God will stand forever.” – Isaiah 40:8
Every day in every way, change is in the air. The is particularly noticeable in Autumn, as the grass literally withers and the flowers literally fade, but it is really evident in all of life. As we lift up prayers for those affected by earthquakes, hurricanes and fires we are reminded that nothing is forever – except God. It reminds me of the line from the old hymn – “Change and decay in all around I see; O Thou who changest not, abide with me.” Not all change is bad, but whichever way the winds of change are blowing in your life, may you find comfort in knowing that God is with you always and is the same – yesterday, today and tomorrow.
