Deacons Christmas Ministry

The annual Deacons Christmas Breakfast will take place on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  The Breakfast benefits families in need in Wood County.  Families who attend will get a delicious hot breakfast as well as food baskets for each family, and gifts of toys or other items, books, and ornaments for the children.

Please consider purchasing a gift(s) for a local family attending the Christmas Party by selecting an envelope from The Giving Tree, which will be located in the Fellowship Hall. You might want to share a family with a friend or another church member.  Inside the envelope you will find the number of children in the family, gift ideas, and family-identity sticker(s) to apply to the gift(s).

Please sign the Giving Tree register located next to the tree so that the Deacons know who has which family. Please spend about $15-20 per child, bring gift(s) wrapped or unwrapped to the church by November 30th. Gifts may be dropped off in the office.

Consider volunteering for one of the activities listed below. Complete the form and place it in the offering plate or bring it to the church office. For more information call the church office at 419-352-5176; or David Hyslop at 419/494-4881 or dhyslo@bgsu.edu. Thank you!

Also the Deacons Mitten Tree will arrive in the Narthex on December 4th for everyone to decorate with new or handmade mittens, hats, earmuffs, scarves, and socks. We can use all sizes for men, women and children. We will leave the tree up until the first of the year and all of the donated items will be given out through the Deacons’ Shop throughout the cold winter months.

Tear off and place in offering plate or turn in at church office

YOUR GENEROUS SUPPORT OF THE CHRISTIAN FOOD PANTRY IS APPRECIATED.  Many thanks for your continued support of the BG Christian Food Pantry by giving food items in the grocery cart by the elevator.  Every week or so we are filling up the cart and then delivering the donated items to the local Christian Food Pantry.  I am continually thanked by the staff members who work at the Pantry and asked to extend thanks to all in our church who have assisted on a regular basis.  I can confirm that the items we provide are also appreciated by the families and individuals we serve, and very helpful in providing basis needs for those who need this assistance.  Thanks for your help and generosity.                                                                                                Dave Hyslop—on behalf of the Deacons
