Spring Retreat June 9
Spring is here (at least according the calendar!) so it is time once again for the Presbyterian Women’s Spring Retreat. We are trying a new venue this year that may make it easier for those with busy schedules to attend. The retreat will be in Bowling Green at the Wood County Library’s Carter House located on Church Street behind the library. The day will begin at 9:30 a.m. with coffee and pastries, with the program beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the day ending by 3:00 pm. Sunset Bistro is preparing the lunch for us at a cost of $10.00 per person. Our program presenters will be Pastor Mary Jane and Mary Bielen.
The theme of our retreat is: Caring and Community: Lessons from the Dead Sea. If you’re wondering how caring and community are related to the Dead Sea, then come to the retreat to find out. The topic will be presented through stimulating group discussions and sharing our own stories and experiences. We will try some journaling and a sea-related craft, and experience some sea salt scrub as we enjoy some fellowship and worship.
The retreat is always a relaxing day of reconnecting with church friends and enjoying thoughtful, enlightening discussions. Please consider joining us!
Please RSVP to Nancy Hess by Tuesday June 5 (call 419-806-4788 or email firstname.lastname@example.org). Payment for lunch can be made at the event.
Please keep in mind the Presbyterian Women’s Annual Rummage Sale is coming later this summer. (Exact date yet to be determined.) No tvs, mattresses, computers, or clothes will be accepted. Please wait to bring your donations to the church until the week prior to the event.
Also keep in mind if you have Christmas decorations to donate please save those for our choir benefit sale, The Jingle Jumble, coming in late November.
Thanks to all in advance for your help in making these sales such successes. This has always been two very highly successful fund raisers for the PW, and the source of much of our money that we donate to missions within the church.
Thank You for the Health Fair Kits
The Presbyterian Women would like to thank everyone who contributed for the health fair kits. Soap bars, shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes were collected and taken to the Presbytery meeting which was on May 15th.
