The Green Team’s mission is to encourage the congregation to do its part to care for the Earth.
First Presbyterian Church has been designated as an Earth Care Congregation. As such, we have pledged to support care of the Earth in the areas of education, outreach, facilities, and worship.
The Green Team has particularly been working on the development of the green space on the west side of the church, bordering S. Grove St. In spring 2021, work is in process on a community garden and a labyrinth. On the north side of the church, the Team has worked on native plantings and a designated Monarch butterfly habitat. The committee will also work on maintenance of the courtyard garden. Volunteers are welcome!
